Companies are spending significantly on app promotion

Apps are a new channel to reach your customers and users. However, with over 1 million apps in the App Store, marketing is critical.

According to an admanGo report, in Hong Kong, Standard Chartered Bank, Coca-Cola and Walt Disney are among the top brands spending the most on promoting their mobile apps. In the first 3 quarters of 2012, total ad dollars spent for promoting mobile apps was HK$166 million. Compare that figure with 2011 when only HK$17 million was spent in app promotion, and you can see it jumped ten-fold.
